到達までに二つ東屋があり、勾配も緩やかで危険な場所もなく、よく整備されているので子連れでもゆっくりなら問題なし。
ハイキングコース側からは万作堤に降りるルートは藪が濃すぎて無し。
上空写真と振り付けの地図写真を見るとわかるが、堤に行くにはみちのく文化の道を通ってくるしかない。
特にこの場所自体がいい景色というわけではないのだが、ここまで到達するまでの道の所々に景色のいい場所があり、桜の木を多く見たので、春先や紅葉のシーズンはとても綺麗だと伺える。
