★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 清冽な水と豊かな緑に恵まれ、茨城・福島・栃木の3県に跨るように聳え、茨城県最高峰を誇る標高1022mの名山『八溝山』、その名は八方に深く谷が刻まれているところに由来します。ブナやナラの大木が生い茂る山中は、珍しい植物や小動物に出会うことのできる大自然の宝庫で、茨城県北ジオパークのジオサイトに認定されています。山頂には大パノラマを満喫できる展望台や閑静な佇まいの八溝嶺神社、8合目付近には『名水100選』の一つに選定された八溝川湧水群、坂東三十三観音霊場21番札所の八溝山日輪寺があり、古くから山岳信仰の場としても知られています。
Blessed with clear water and abundant greenery, it towers over the three prefectures of Ibaraki, Fukushima, and Tochigi, and boasts the highest peak in Ibaraki prefecture, the famous mountain "Yamizoyama" with an altitude of 1022 m. It comes from the place where it is. The mountains, which are overgrown with large beech and oak trees, are a treasure trove of nature where you can meet rare plants and small animals, and are certified as geosites in the North Ibaraki Geopark. At the top of the mountain is an observatory where you can enjoy a panoramic view, Yamizomine Shrine with a quiet appearance, and near the 8th station, the Yamizo River springs, which was selected as one of the "100 Famous Waters", and Bando Sanjusankannon Sacred Ground. There is Yamizoyama Nichirinji Temple, which is the 21st temple, and it has been known as a place of mountain worship since ancient times.
