この神社は、萱津神社の脇にある
池の守り神として鎮座します。
萱津神社の拝殿・
鳥居、末社なども五条川の流れる東側を向いており
鎌倉街道を行き交う人を見守り、良い流れを司る
龍神様の祠です。
鎌倉街道は、古代の官道をもとに
源頼朝が開いた
鎌倉と京都とを結ぶ道です。
昔、ここから少し南に萱津の渡し場と萱津宿が
あり、多くの人々がおとづれました。
萱津宿の先は、海となっており、
この宿で寝泊まりし、
翌朝、伊勢方面もしくは、熱田方面へと
向かう分岐点でもありました。
お池龍神は、鎌倉街道を行き交う人々を見てきました。
そして、導いてきたパワースポットです。
