最初は福ちゃん山荘まで、車道と登山道とが選べます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1983年6月に自転車で裂石側から越えました。峠までは8kmで700mアップのきつい上りです。当時、嵯峨塩裂石林道は未舗装でしたが、登山者の車が多数入っている様で路面状態は良く、それ程苦労せずに登り切りました。自転車を担いで大菩薩峠まで往復して、初鹿野に向けて下ります。上日川ダムはまだ工事も始まっておらず、20km近い荒れたダートで、下りの方が疲れた気がします。
I crossed it from the rift side by bicycle in June 1983. It is a steep climb of 700m up at 8km to the pass. At that time, the Saga Shioriishi Forest Road was unpaved, but the road surface was in good condition as there were many climbers' cars, so I climbed it without much difficulty. Carry a bicycle and go back and forth to the Bodhisattva Pass and descend toward Hatsukano. The construction of the Kaminagawa Dam has not started yet, and it is a rough dirt road of nearly 20km, and I feel that the descent is more tired.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 10月31日に西沢渓谷の帰りに訪れました。
峠までの道はところどころかなり細く車が行き違う事ができないほど。
でも左右に広がる広葉樹の紅葉は見事でした。
ロッジ長兵衛ではほうとうが1000円で食べられます。
周辺に無料駐車場、公衆トイレが完備されています。
大菩薩峠の登山道の入り口になっていて多くの観光客は訪れていました。足場が悪いのである程度の装備をしていった方が良いみたいです。
I visited on the way back from Nishizawa Gorge on October 31st.
The road to the pass is so narrow that cars can't cross each other.
However, the autumn leaves of the broad-leaved trees spreading to the left and right were wonderful.
At Lodge Chobei, you can eat hoto for 1000 yen.
Free parking and public toilets are available in the surrounding area.
It was the entrance to the mountain trail of the Obosatsu Pass and was visited by many tourists. Since the scaffolding is bad, it seems better to equip it to some extent.
