★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 滝観洞に歩いて数分の最寄り駅です。SL銀河号の停車駅にも成っており駐車場からトンネル出口のアングルがお薦めです(下りの場合)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昨日 ＴＶで 安田団長が 生活利用者を見つけるコーナーやってるのを見まして、駅近くの洞窟に行ってみたくなりました。ぜひ熊が出ない時間帯に電車で行ってみようと思います。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 以前釜石行きに乗ってたら、旅行者というには随分簡単なリュック背負った２０歳くらいのカワイイ女の子ひとりだけ降りて驚いた(＠￣Д￣＠；)
民家ほぼないし、集落まで遠いし、家族が車で迎えにでも来てんのかな？極めて少ない近くの民家の子？はたまたひとり滝観洞観光？とかイロイロ考えて(≧ω≦)ｂ
すなわちそれほどに通常は利用がほとんどない秘境的な場所。
至近の滝観洞も列車で行く人ほとんどいないそうで・・・希におるそうでそのひとりかな？
ただ、列車は８往復くらい停車するから列車到達難易度は低いけど。
本線の横に草ボーボーの中に錆びきった側線２本あって、そこから続いてたであろう専用線の跡もあって、かつて貨物で賑わってたんだろうと偲ばせる。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 周囲に民家がほとんどなく、非常に静かな駅。ちょっと離れたところに綺麗な公衆トイレがある。また、徒歩数分のところに「滝観洞」がある。
