★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kamata Station is HIGHLY underrated for anyone seeking a good night out. I live in Kamata, and have loved every moment of it. It's much more gritty and real than a lot of Tokyo—a lot of people compare it to Osaka in that way. There's also plenty of awesome restaurants, izakaya, and bars surrounding the station.

History
The JR East station opened on 11 April 1904.[1] The Tokyu station opened on 6 October 1922 on the Ikegami Line, and services on Tamagawa Line began on 1 November 1923.[2]

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm going to give it two stars, which means I think there are some big problems with the station. A minor problem is the Jr Wi-Fi does not work, and when I asked him about it his attitude was very much why would I care? The big problem is that this is the Terminus of the Tokunai ticket. I don't see any good reason to limit it in such a rude way. One stop short of Kawasaki? In general I can already say that the Tokunai pass seems to be a much worse deal than the Metro one day pass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Moderately crowded station at the peak. One of the large scale JR stations in Tokyo. This is in between Omori and Kawasaki JR station. Kamata has lot of shops inside the station. Convenient Stores, Breadshops, Pizza points were my favorite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great station in an aerea south of Tokyo near the airport!!! Alot of lights and shops open till very late!! Many place to have lunch or dinner with typical Japanese restaurants!! Is a main station and is living 24 hours!!
