★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 篠ノ井の山手には古墳が多くあり、川柳将軍塚古墳の他にここにも前方後円墳があります。神社と一体になっており、古墳時代の後も信仰を集めていたようで石碑がいくつか設置されています。
There are many burial mounds in the Yamanoe of Ashinoi, and there is also a fortress in front of the area in addition to General Kawayanagi and Tsuka mounds. It is integrated with the shrine, and some monuments have been set up as if they had gathered their faith even after the Kofun period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 稲荷山駅の西方向の比較的低い丘陵上に3基の古墳群を形成している内、最大の古墳が中郷神社前方後円墳です。長野市の指定史跡ですが、積極的な学術調査はしていません。近接円墳は、副葬品等を納めた陪塚の可能性があります。この陪塚を有する古墳は市内では、川柳将軍塚古墳が有名です。
形状から川向うの土口将軍塚古墳と類似するそうです。
前方後円墳としては小規模ですが、善光寺平の前方後円墳としては、いい状態で保存されています。
長野県考古学会の遺跡番号5574です。
Three burial mounds are formed on the relatively low hill in the west direction of Inari Shimane Station, the largest ancient tomb is the Nakamori Shrine keyhole tomb. It is a designated historic site of Nagano-shi, but I do not do aggressive academic research. There is a possibility of the mound that the nearby circular tomb has paid burials etc. The tomb with this mound is famous for the Shogun Tsuka burial mound in the city.
It seems to be similar to Doguchi Shogun's Kofuku tomb from the shape.
Although it is a small scale as a keyhole-shaped tumuli, it is preserved in a good condition as a keyhole-shaped tumuli of Zenkoji Hei.
It is the ruins number 5574 of the Nagano Prefecture Archaeological Society.
