★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This camping spot was one of the worst places we've stayed at. We arrived at the reception only to be told immediately that it was 2000 yen for one night and that if we wanted a camping with a dustbin closeby then we needed to go next door! There are no showers and the ground is rock hard so it was almost impossible to put the tent pegs in. There are toilets and an area outside where there are big sinks and two tables which they call the kitchen. There are no shops around and the cafe next door closes very early so if you want to eat anything after 6, then you will have to walk for 2 hours to Kawaguchi (the bus stops around 6) or plan to buy some food from the station before you stay here. In the morning, the first bus is at 10.18.
On the other hand, the view of the lake was very nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A camp site with plenty of space and a magnificent view of the lake. Mount Fuji is not visible there but the lake remains very calm, despite some gales! There are no showers but an onsen with restoration is available just a stone's throw away. Very affordable.
