埼玉高速鉄道線を当駅経由でJR宇都宮線蓮田駅まで延伸する計画がある。
Express trains also stop at Tobu Urban Park Line stations.
There is a plan to extend the Saitama High-speed Railway Line to Hasuda Station on the JR Utsunomiya Line via this station.

駅前は非常に地味ですが、大宮のベッドタウンとして機能している街です。
駅は橋上駅であり、10分に１本程度の割合で電車が走ってます。
