It is said that the woodworker who lived in the area produced Kokeshi dolls. The Iwashita Kokeshi Museum exhibits materials related to Kokeshi dolls. There are also valuable literature and exhibits from the Edo period, and the number of exhibits is the largest in Tohoku. There is a Kokeshi doll production demonstration corner on the premises, where you can observe the policy up close. Feel the sound of shaving kokeshi dolls, the smell of wood, and the craftsmanship. One of the things that tourists can experience is the Kokeshi strap painting experience. Run the brush yourself and create an original kokeshi doll. The craftsman will guide you carefully. The experience depends on the type, but the minimum amount is 1000 yen. As a privilege, a mini kokeshi doll will be given to those who experience painting! There is also a passenger car parking lot just off Naruko Gorge. Admission is free from 8:00 AM to 17:30 PM. It will be a very valuable facility because you can experience it yourself, including the process of making kokeshi dolls.
