★ ★ ★ ★ ★ シンガーソングライター谷山浩子が1979年に発表した5枚目のアルバム「夢半球」のB面3曲目「テングサの歌」に歌われた紀州本線の駅として知られる。
歌では、核戦争後に人類がいなくなった状況をコミカルに歌っているが、この駅が実際に無人駅になったのは歌の発表から6年後の1985年3月のことである。
ホームは太平洋に相対し、青空と海が一望できる。
It is known as a station on the Kishu Main Line, which was sung by the singer-songwriter Hiroko Taniyama on the B-side third song "Tengusa no Uta" on the fifth album "Dream Hemisphere" released in 1979.
The song comically sings the situation where humanity disappeared after the nuclear war, but this station actually became an unmanned station in March 1985, six years after the announcement of the song.
The home is facing the Pacific Ocean, and you can see the blue sky and the sea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 実はまだ一度も行ったことがありません。ただ、シンガーソングライター谷山浩子さんの「テングサの歌」という作品の中に出てくるのでぜひ一度行ってみたい！

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅周辺にお店や自販機などほとんどなく、加えて日陰などあるはずもなく、摂氏37度の真夏のカンカン照りの中、延々アスファルト道路を歩き続けた日々が懐かしい・・・
駅前の通りには、なぜか店内スパイダーマンだらけの和菓子屋さんがあったりしますA(^^;

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 紀州を列車で旅するなら、当駅周辺のオーシャンビューは必見。前後の切目－南部間は渚が広がり、澄み渡る海を見渡すことができます。何としても海側の席を確保したいところです。浜が広がるものの海水浴場などには開発されておらず、時々いるサーフィン客を除けば人気もそれほどないので、下車して静かな海を堪能するのもいいでしょう。写真は海岸まで降りて撮ったものです。
If you travel by train in Kishu, you must see the ocean view around this station. The beach extends between the front and rear cuts and the south, and you can see the clear sea. I want to secure a seaside seat anyway. Although the beach is widespread, it has not been developed for beaches, etc., and it is not very popular except for occasional surfers, so it is good to get off and enjoy the quiet sea.
