岩谷堂発展の基礎を築いた藩祖岩城貞山公が、本国岩城より北辰妙見を勧請したのに始まり、嘉永2年（1849）伊勢参宮講中が御分霊を授けられ五十瀬神社を建立、正月15日を祭日とした。
明治25年2月火災により社殿・記録等焼失するも御神体は無事で、明治27年9月社殿再建なる。
大正15年6月17日現在地に遷座し、この時から祭日を6月17日に改める。
昭和15年村社列格。
