You can learn about the history of iron in Kamaishi. Suddenly, I stopped by, but it was quite interesting. It was good that there was a steam engine in the parking lot and there were various iron products. After that, I'm heading to the sea, so I think it's a good point that I could see it well.

A great place to learn about the history of the relationship between Kamaishi and iron. I thought that it would be even more intriguing for children if the exhibition of scientific experiments on iron was enhanced a little more.

There was a hands-on workshop here. Select your favorite mold in advance, spread red sand in the wooden frame, put the mold in it, pile up the sand from above and push it by hand to harden the sand and make a round hole on the side to complete it. If you pour lead? And cool it, you will have a key chain ?

A rare museum where you can learn about the history of steelmaking in Japan. The theater screening at the beginning is devised and very interesting. The exhibition room is also large and substantial, so it is recommended.

21/4/12 Tour. Kamaishi is the birthplace of modern steelmaking in Japan. Born and raised in the city of steelmaking, it was a must-see facility for me who is interested in industrial history, so I visited it. You can learn many things such as iron manufacturing methods and types, usage methods, and eco-friendly initiatives. There are also many records of how this place was selected and the people involved. After all, in building the Yahata Steel Works, I understood that the experience in Kamaishi was utilized and many people involved were involved. To know the history, I thought again that it is important to know the whole flow in addition to the geographical conditions and the historical background at that time.

Perhaps it will strike you as a must see destination, being a museum to the history of industry, both in Kamaishi and Japan generally, but for non Japanese speakers the museum is a bit of a miss, with only the brochure upon entry providing any real level of English language support - otherwise it's just examples of iron ore and iron tools with very little context. The scale model smelter demonstration at the start of the museum is visually impressive, however not necessarily worth visiting for that alone
