なるほど、おもしろい。
地方都市にありがちな、もっと有形文化財のような姿を期待していたが、そうではなかったのが、残念なような、逆に嬉しいような。
1913年（大正２年）の常総鉄道の開業の時に設置された。2013年５月から無人駅化。
駅舎内に「お客様へのお知らせ」と題して、
【稲戸井駅の駅係員が終日不在(無人)となります
日頃より関東鉄道常総線のご利用にありがとうございます。稲戸井駅では平成25年5月16日(木)より、常駐の駅係員を 終日不在とし、 朝夕ラッシュ時間帯および日中の一部時間帯に管理駅 (守谷駅)からの駅係員の巡回・派遣による営業形態へと変 更させていただきます。】
という張り紙があった。
龍禅寺などの文化財を見るには、スタート地点としては最適な駅。どんどん歩いて健康になろう。
