Unexpected temple while exploring Asakusa. Really worth it. Only 5 minutes away from Asakusa-Jinja & Nakamise-dōri.

Came on a guided tour of eastern Tokyo. Interesting shrine, origins of the money cat.

Very lovely shrine. It is rather small compared to others, but it is quaint and deserves a visit. Sometimes there are real cats there too!

Further away from Senso Ji (about 25 minutes walk) lies this shrine, which stands for finding your true love shortly or for luck in your relationship. It is much less touristy than Senso Ji, and of course not as big or beautiful, but it is worth the detour.

Shrine well known for anyone searching for soul mate and their true love. Very popular among many japanese girls and women. Locally known. Mostly visit by car. Or able to take the vintage carriage from Sensoji temple. ???❤?

This little shrine is said to be the birthplace of the Maneki Neko “beckoning cat” or “lucky cat” you now see all across Japan! The shrine has cute cat decorations all through the shrine including small decorations in their garden, cats on the ema wish boards, and two big maneki neko inside of the shrine. They also sell lots of charms with cats on them and their goshuin (temple seal) features cats too. The shrine isn’t very big so 10-15 minutes is more than enough to see it all. But it’s not far from Sensoji and Asakusa so if you like cats and have the energy for a short walk I would recommend swinging by! Plus isn’t not nearly as crowded as the Sensoji area is so you can have a more relaxing and quite shrine visit. There are also a few benches on the shrine grounds where you can stop and rest. Tip: From Asakusa walk up along the Sumidagawa riverside park for great views on your way here!

Nice Shrine full of cat sculptures and decoration. It has a beautiful Sakura fully blossomed right now. It is also a very popular place for women of all ages (I was the only guy there in a group of ~20 people).

It's a shrine dedicated to cats and matchmaking. Auspicious cats are everywhere. I visited here in secret because i am unlucky in love. There are adorable cats sleeping around. There is just one main shrine but it is well taken care of. The woman at the stand for selling the omamori etc. is a sweet and nice person. Goshuin are pre-made at the moment due to corona. I recommend you come here to experience cute cats, a nice lady, and hopefully some luck in love.
