箕	箕輪明 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 素敵な限定御朱印をいただきました。鳥居があちこちにあってどちらからもお参りできます。今回、正面どと思われる鳥居かる小道を少し辿って、のどかな田園を歩いてみました。すると、神社から１㌔くらい離れた所に、大きな鳥居を発見!ここをくぐって生島足島神社に訪れるのかと、妙に納得しました。朱塗りが鮮やかな素敵な神社です。 I received a wonderful limited red stamp. There are torii gates here and there, and you can visit from either side. This time, I followed the torii path, which seems to be in front of me, and walked through the idyllic countryside. Then, I found a big torii gate about 1 km away from the shrine! I was strangely convinced that I would go through this place and visit Ikushimatarushima Shrine. It is a wonderful shrine with bright vermilion.
箕	箕輪明 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 上田市の郊外にこれほど格調高い荘厳な神社があるとは知りませんでした。広い駐車場もあり、鳥居をくぐるのが楽しみな神社です。本殿を囲む池も落ち着きがあり、木々の緑が朱塗の建物に映えます。今回で訪問は二度目ですが、鳥居の前の細い道を歩いて見ました。途中まで歩くと大きな朱色の鳥居が見えてきました。この生島足島神社の一の鳥居かな。立派な鳥居です。土地の人々の愛着が感じられます。 I didn't know that there was such a magnificent shrine in the suburbs of Ueda City. There is also a large parking lot, and it is a shrine where you can enjoy going through the torii gate. The pond that surrounds the main shrine is also calm, and the greenery of the trees shines in the red-painted building. This is my second visit, but I walked along the narrow road in front of the torii gate. When I walked halfway, I saw a large vermilion torii gate. I think it's one of the torii gates at Ikushimatarushima Shrine. It is a fine torii gate. You can feel the attachment of the local people.

T	T E on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This shrine is apparently the centre of Japan (which part of Japan, all of it? Just Honshu? Who knows, but there you go) so it's a "power spot". It's also interesting because, unusually, the torii gates do not face the main shrine hall. Instead, they're placed so that on winter solstice the sun rises inside one gate and sets in the other. There are some ducks in the pond you can feed and there are good festivals here as well.

It's surrounded by a pond and has a wealth of interesting buildings besides the main shrine, like a beautiful kagura dance stage and kabuki hall that you can go beneath to see some of the stage machinery. There's also a very large torii gate about 1 km to the northeast of the gate at the entrance to the shrine.
