現在、渡波地区に鎮座する伊去波和気命神社は、由緒によれば『もともとは岡の地にあった』とされていますが、水沼地区には岡という名字が多いことから、岡と密接な関係がある旧鎮座地は水沼地区であるという説があるそうです。
