★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 禾生駅から九鬼山を目指すのはコースタイムが短い愛宕神社経由のコースを行く人が多いのですが、池ノ山コースと合流するとそこからはほぼ急な坂です。一方こちらの杉山新道は急登がなくて歩きやすいです。鈴懸峠への分岐まではひたすら登りで下りがありませんし、迂回しているので少し時間が掛かりますが、体力を温存しておきたい方にはこちらを歩くことをお勧めします。冬場は落葉する木々も多く、所々に中央高速の向こうの山々がチラチラ見えて気が紛れます。峠分岐からはアップダウンも少し急な坂もありますけれど。前方に空が見えても山頂まではまだ先です。三つ目の空は山頂標が見えるので、景色に期待しましょう。愛宕橋分岐のすぐ手前が富士見平で、晴れていれば富士山がきれいです。
 Many people go to Kukiyama from Kasei Station on the course via Atago Shrine, which has a short course time, but when joining the Ikenoyama course, the slope is almost steep. On the other hand, this Sugiyama Shindo is easy to walk without a steep climb. Until the branch to Suzukake Pass, there is no descent and no downhill, and it takes a little time because of the detour, but we recommend walking here if you want to preserve your physical strength. In winter, there are many trees that fall, and in some places the mountains beyond the Chuo Expressway are flickering and distracting. There are some steep slopes up and down from the fork. Even if you can see the sky ahead, it is still ahead of the summit. In the third sky, you can see the summit mark, so look forward to the scenery. Just before Atagobashi branch is Fujimihei, and if it is sunny, Mt. Fuji is beautiful.
