★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 中山の北側、ちょうど吉備津神社と吉備津彦神社の中間くらいですが、非常に急な斜面にあるので、訪れるのに一苦労です。ふもとからだと、福田海付近から上ることになりますが、かなり急坂です。私は中山の山頂、吉備津彦神社の元宮から、麓に降りる形で到達しましたが、それでも急斜面を降りていくだけで一苦労です。まあ、その分、見ごたえもあってよかったですが、訪問の際は足元はしっかりした装備で行ったほうがよいです。ついでに中山山中の名所もまわりましょう。
On the north side of Nakayama, just halfway between Kibitsu Shrine and Kibitsuhiko Shrine, but on a very steep slope, it is hard to visit. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鼻ぐり塚のあるお寺を出て右側にある墓地の端っこ(墓地に向かって右側)の階段を上がる登山道へ、
天柱岩と書かれた小さな板の案内が分かれ道毎にあります。中頃で一箇所 数メートルずれるところがあります。行き過ぎぬようご注意を。
なかなかの急峻な山道をジグザグと登ること10数分で到着です。

There is a guide of a small plate written as Tensuruiwa at each branch. There are some places in the middle that are several meters apart. Be careful not to go too far.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 奥宮から、こちらに来ました。戻って鏡岩に行くには、下ってきた急斜面を考えますと気力がありません。こちらから下に降りて、吉備津神社に行くことにしました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天気も良く気候もハイキングには持ってこいの4月中旬。草木は芽吹いたばかりで歩きやすく見晴らしも最高でした。近所の方がいたので話すと以前はかなり茂っていたが今はかなり歩きやすくなったそうです。
180号線を見下ろせるとても眺めのいい場所でした。
The weather is nice and the weather is perfect for hiking, mid April. The vegetation was freshly sprouted, easy to walk in, and had the best view. Since I was in the neighborhood, I heard that it used to be pretty thick before, but now it is much easier to walk.
It was a very scenic spot overlooking Route 180.
