★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天武天皇の皇子「開元親王」が天平四年一月十一日の自刃した後、後を追った官女を葬り塚とした。その後にこの場所は弁財天＝市杵島神社として創建された。
 After the Emperor Tenmu's prince, “Kaimoto Shinou”, self-destructed on January 11th, 4th year of Heihei, the government officer and woman who followed her were used as a funeral mound. Later, this place was founded as Benzaiten = Ichijima Shrine.

境内に古墳がある。
とても雰囲気の良い神社だった。
周囲の環境も静かだし、
暫く佇んでいたくなる空間。
