K	Kou K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 凝灰岩からなる鋸山の大部分が「日本寺」の霊域境内となっている。西口管理所から比較的足元のいい切り通し(金谷石の切り出しに使われていた)を抜けると視界が広がる。房州石石切場跡でその壁面に高さ100尺(約30m)の巨大な磨崖仏が現れる。太平洋戦争ので戦没者や交通事故犠牲者の供養の目的で、昭和41年に6年野歳月をかけて彫られた観音菩薩像。航海・航空・陸上交通の安全にご利益があるそう。その姿は圧巻で、しかしお顔は穏やかな表情に彫られている。太陽光線が射すと、この石切場跡である空間が神秘的に感じる。 Most of Mt. Nokogiri, which consists of tuff, is the precincts of the sacred area of "Nihonji". If you go through a relatively good cut (used to cut out Kanaya stone) from the west exit management office, you will have a wider view. At the site of the Boshu stone quarry, a huge Buddha with a height of 100 shaku (about 30 m) appears on the wall. A statue of the Kannon Bodhisattva carved over 6 years in 1966 for the purpose of memorializing the victims of the war and traffic accidents due to the Pacific War. It seems to be beneficial for the safety of navigation, aviation, and land transportation. Its appearance is overwhelming, but its face is carved with a gentle expression. When the sun shines, the space that is the remains of this quarry feels mysterious.
湘	湘南物語 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鋸山にある百尺観音です。地獄のぞきが目的でしたが、道中にあったので立ち寄りましたがここ目当てでも良い位存在感があります。車で西口管理所から登って行きました。ここまでは道のりもそう険しくはないです。途中も幻想的な風景で素敵です。 It is a hundred-scale Kannon on Mt. Nokogiri. The purpose was to peep into hell, but I stopped by because I was on the way, but there is a good presence here. I climbed from the west exit management office by car. The road is not so steep so far. The scenery is fantastic on the way.

As someone near us said, "If you brought me here blindfolded, I would have no idea where I was." This is a place out of time and out of mind. Truly worth the visit.
