★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 上杉景勝が開祖で、1618年に建立しました。直江兼続が禅林文庫とゆう蔵書を備え、米沢藩の学問所となりました。後に文殊堂が建立されました。時間があればこちらにくるのも良いかもしれません。
Kagekatsu Uesugi was the founder and was built in 1618. Naoe Kanetsugu has become a learning center for the Yonezawa domain with the Zenrin Bunko and Yu collection. The Monjudo was later built. If you have time, you may come here.

法泉寺は、直江兼続公によって創設された臨済宗の寺院で、禅林寺という名前でした。。
２代藩主定勝公の３女亀姫の法名「法泉院殿」をとり、禅林寺から法泉寺と寺名が変わりました。
境内の文殊堂は、２代目の絶山和尚が慶安元年（１６４８年）に切戸の文殊（京都府宮津市）を勧請したものと伝えられています。現在のお堂は昭和５年に再建されたものです。

Hosen-ji Temple is a temple of Rinzai-so, founded by Naoe and Keiko, and was named Ryorinji. .
The Hosen-ji Temple and the temple name changed from Kuririn-ji, taking the name "Hosen-in Hall" of the 3 female turtle princesses of the 2nd generation lord Yusaku.
It is said that the Bunshodo in the precinct was the second generation Tsuneyama Kazuya recruited Kirito's Bunshi (Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture) in 1648. The present hall was rebuilt in 1955.

今は往時の面影はありませんが、かつては隆盛を誇っていたみたいで、道路を隔てた向かい側には文殊堂や庭園等が残っています。
It is "Hosenji" which was built by Kanetsugu Naoe, a warlord of the Warring States.
It doesn't look like it used to be, but it seems that it used to be prosperous, and there are still a Buddhist temple and a garden on the other side of the road.
