★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 豊龍(ほうりゅう)神社の由緒は1000年以上前に遡り、平安時代に龍の神霊を鎮め祀った寺が創建されたことに始まるという。
駐車場は、鳥居に伸びる階段の右に車道が続いており、少し進むと豊龍の丘公園があるためそこに停めることができる。
境内には県指定天然記念物の大スギがあり、豊龍神社創建時に植えられたものとも伝えられている。豊龍神社右手には豊龍山稲荷神社も併殿されているほか、参道右手には数多くの石塔が建ち並ぶ。確認できたものを紀年銘とともに以下に記す。
・稲荷大明□ (文化四年)
・正一位稲荷大明神
・金華山
・黄金山 (明治二十五年)
・青面金剛 (享保六年)
・秋葉山
・太神宮
・庚申塔
・愛染明王 (寛政年間)

The history of Horyu Shrine dates back more than 1000 years, and it is said that it began with the construction of a temple that enshrined the spirit of the dragon during the Heian period.
The parking lot has a driveway to the right of the stairs leading to the torii gate, and if you go a little further, you can park there at Horyu Hill Park.
There is a large sugi, a natural monument designated by the prefecture, in the precincts, and it is said that it was planted when the Horyu Shrine was built. Horyuyama Inari Shrine is also on the right side of Horyu Shrine, and many stone towers are lined up on the right side of the approach. The confirmed ones are described below along with the chronogram.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 6月6日に西村山郡旭町にある豊龍神社にお伺いして来ました。住宅地にあるけど静かな所でした。先ず目につくのは県指定文化財 天然記念物の大スギです。根周り11m、幹周り7.5mと存在感があります。神社は小さいながら綺麗です。駐車場は、大スギの脇に停める所しかないのでご注意下さい。気になる方は是非とも参拝に行かれてみてはいかがでしょう。
I visited Horyu Shrine in Asahi-cho, Nishimurayama-gun on June 6th. It was in a residential area but quiet. The first thing that stands out is the large sugi, a natural monument designated by the prefecture. It has a strong presence with a root circumference of 11m and a trunk circumference of 7.5m. The shrine is small but beautiful. Please note that the parking lot is only available at the side of the large sugi. If you are interested, why don't you go to worship?
