It is a magnificent lotus temple. You can park your car in the precincts. It's very beautiful. There was Hasuda in the immediate vicinity, and there were many double lotus flowers in bloom. ~ 2021,7,23 ~ There was damage to turtles and crayfish, but thanks to the efforts of the locals, it has been revived. The back pond is still in bloom, but the front and side ponds are in bloom.

I'm disappointed that many temples of Jodo Shinshu don't get the red stamp, but I can handle it here. The building is called a large main hall or a drum tower like a turret, and it looks like a temple of the Shinshu sect, but what impressed me was that the moat that was laid out remained in good condition, making it even more like a castle. It is no wonder that it was one of the bases of Mikawa Ikko-ikki. The moat seems to have a lot of hustle in the summer, but I would like to come back again at that time. The parking lot goes through the mountain gate and parks in the precincts. You can leave your car here and go to the back of the warehouse, which is a short distance away from the mountain gate. That's why I visited again in early July. There were several flowers blooming here and there, but it seems that it was a little too early, and the priest said that this year will be about the next week. Thank you. I'm sorry. I will add two photos.

The temple itself is a castle with a water moat surrounding the precincts, a Tsukiji wall and a stone wall facing the moat, and a drum tower (which seems to have also served as a turret) in the corner of the precincts. If you come by car, drive through the gate and park in the square in front of the main hall. Many of the old buildings were built in the Edo period, and the main hall is a designated cultural property of Aichi Prefecture, and other temples such as the drum tower, bell tower, and Kyozo are designated cultural properties of Anjo City.

It is said to be a temple opened by Keien in the latter half of the Kamakura period. It seems that my impression was not wrong that it looked like a castle. It's called a castle temple. The inner moat is partly covered with lotus, and I think it will be very beautiful by the time the lotus flowers bloom. Then, from the latter half of the 15th century, he changed from the Takada sect of the Jodo Shin sect to the Honganji sect (so-called Ikko sect). From around this time, the organization of Honganji monks in the Mikawa region progressed, and it became Mikawa Mikawa Temple along with "Shomaji" and "Kamimiyaji". In the first half of the 16th century, a double moat and earthworks were built, and it became known as a castle temple. In 2015, the precincts such as earthworks and moats became nationally designated historic sites, and of the double moats, all the inner moats still exist. To Mikawa Ikko-ikki These "Honshoji", "Shomaji" and "Kamimiyaji" are the bases of Honganji monks in Mikawa, and give the privilege of not being a guardian to the Mikawa Mikawa temple, Matsudaira Hirotada (father of Ieyasu). Was being done. However, it is said that Ieyasu's vassals tried to forcibly collect rice at Kamimiyaji, which has the privilege of not being a guardian, and it developed into a riot. Since Jodo Shinshu was supposed to be able to go to Sukhavati Jodo as long as he worshiped Amida Nyorai, Ikko-ikki spread all at once, and there were considerable believers in Ieyasu's vassals as well as farmers and samurai. In addition, with the addition of lords who did not think Ieyasu well, it was an event that was handed down as one of the three major crises of Ieyasu alongside the Battle of Mikatagahara and the god Ieyasu. The bases of Mikawa Ikko-ikki were this "Honshoji", "Shomaji", "Kamimiyaji" and Toro's "Honshoji". It is said that he fought for about half a year. "Excerpt from the leaflet received from the temple" Mikawa Ikko Ikki In 1564, a consensus was reached once, but it is reported that the shaved people were expelled from both countries and the building was destroyed because Ieyasu refused the unilateral conversion order. About 20 years later, with the efforts of Ieyasu's aunt, Myoharu Ishikawa, the crime of rebellion was forgiven. In the Edo period, Mikawa Mikawaji was given the status of Nakamotoyama in the original system of Motoyama-Nakamotoyama-Sueji, and played the role of coordinating Sueji. In addition, "Honshoji" also has the role of a tentacle of Mikawa Province, which connects the lords and temples and shrines, and the temples under their control. Today's "Honshoji" was gradually arranged throughout the Edo period.

It is suitable for a castle temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect, and is just like a castle that became a battleground between Ikko sect and Ieyasu Tokugawa. The lotus flower in the moat is beautiful.

It is a castle temple that was the center of Mikawa Ikko-ikki, which is said to be one of the three major crises of Ieyasu. We recommend that you visit not only the temple but also the surrounding area. I was pretty crazy here, and I got excited and excited. Most of the historical landscapes of Japan that remain in modern times are from the early modern period, and I think that landscapes of medieval origin are really rare. It is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect, which is a Buddhist Kamakura Buddhism whose cause was to save the people. It is not an easy-to-understand tourist destination, such as the remains of a moat, the division of land, and the subtle differences in elevation of nature, so I think it is necessary to take a careful and careful walk.

Also known as / Nodera Gohonbo, one of the three Mikawa temples, along with Joguji and Shomanji in Okazaki City. Terauchi Town ❗️ The atmosphere of the moat and drum tower is reminiscent of the atmosphere and a part of the old temple castle ?

It is a famous temple for Mikawa Ikko-ikki. The chief priest was a younger one with a different generation. As the times change, things that were insane until now, such as the way of thinking and the way of being, become common sense, and vice versa. I thought he was a wonderful priest who could think according to his needs. Those who are involved in temples in this world should use this person as a model. Such people will change the future of temples in this world. A new young generation breathes new life I would like you to create a new open temple that the general public, especially the younger generation, will be interested in. Even if you ask for a red stamp, the temple of Jodo Shinshu will be refused about 100%, but like other priests of Shinshu, he wrote it without a disgusting face. Thank you, Mr. Honshoji. I also learned that Jodo Shinshu had written it before. Certainly, I know that Goshuin can only be obtained by the person who wrote the sutras, but young people today do not know it, and this does not meet the needs of today. The hard-headed Jodo Shinshu people should emulate other Jodo sect, Nichiren sect, and other denominations. From such a small thing, I think that the way the new temple should be will change little by little. I would like you to protect the culture of this historic temple.
