安	安積野 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東北電力が所有する発電専用のダム。重力式コンクリートダムだが、上流にある田子倉ダムや奥只見ダムのように堂々たる堤体のものではなく、堤高51.5mとあって存在感はそれ程でもないが、ダム自体が国道となっている珍しいダムである（僕が訪れた範囲では他に長野県の奈川渡ダムも国道になっている）。長年の電力需要に貢献してきたダムだが、2011年の新潟・会津豪雨ではこのダムの放水がすぐ下の只見線の橋梁を流出させた一因ともされていて、その功罪は相半ばするといったところだろうか。その後しばらく落橋したままだった当時の只見線の橋桁の写真も載せておこう。尚、国道252号は早戸駅付近のトンネルや会津横田駅付近の橋梁など少しずつ線形改良が進んでいて、この本名ダムのクランクもこれをバイパスするトンネルが掘られているので数年後はダムの上を通ることもできなくなるのだろう。 A dam dedicated to power generation owned by Tohoku Electric Power.
