There is a park, but you cannot go through the dam from the management office. It is one of the few dams in Shiga prefecture where you can get a dam card on Sunday.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 今日は421号線三重側が崩土で通行止めでしたが石榑トンネルまでは走れました。ダム湖は雨天後の為か水位が高かったです。
Today, the Mie side of Route 421 was closed due to collapse, but I was able to run to the Ishizuchi tunnel. The dam lake was high because of rain.

このダムは重力式コンクリートダムと思いきや、右岸側がロックフィル型となっている複合型。
建設時の写真なども管理所に飾ってあったり、複合型ゆえの模型やらもあり、勉強にもなりました。
ダムの天端(てっぺん)は歩いてもかまわないと仰って頂けたので、チェーンを跨いでゲートのすぐ上まで行って迫力ある高さも体感できました。
『道の駅 奥永源寺渓流の里』にて、永源寺ダムカレーが提供されてます‼
このダムカレーにおいても複合型ダムの堤体をご飯でイメージしてるのか、右岸側は盛り付けかたが違ってます。
I got the dam card at the management office. (We were able to respond even on Saturdays and Sundays.)
I think this dam is a gravity type concrete dam, but it is a composite type with a rockfill type on the right bank side.
The photos of the construction were also displayed at the management office, and there were models because of the composite type, which was also a learning experience.
I was told that it is okay to walk to the top of the dam, so I straddled the chain and went to just above the gate to experience the powerful height.
Eigenji Dam Curry is offered at "Roadside Station Okueigenji Keiryu no Sato"!
Even in this dam curry, the way of serving the right bank side is different, probably because the image of the embankment body of the complex type dam is made with rice.
