This time, I went to "Honjo Station in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture" on December 8, 2021. It was a rainy day almost all day, and I had to leave Kanazawa station to Takasaki station by Shinkansen early in the morning, so I stayed overnight at the hotel in front of Kanazawa station in preparation for the rain. I stayed at a hotel called Hotel Trend Kanazawa Ekimae. I checked in at around 21:00 on the 7th the day before and checked out at around 5:30 in the early morning on the 8th, so I couldn't take a picture in the dark time, but it was easy to move because Kanazawa station is near. .. Currently, it seems that breakfast is not served due to hygiene management, but for dinner, you can prepare a lunch box to eat in your room. It was comfortable to have a lunch in the room while relaxing. After that, in the afternoon, I entered Saitama prefecture for the first time in a long time and visited Honjo station. To commemorate myself, I bought the cute Honjo City mascot "Hanipon" and headed to Omiya Station. Honjo station was a pretty beautiful station. It costs ¥ 990 from Honjo Station to Omiya Station by train, and it's farther than I expected. After arriving at Omiya station, it became dark soon because the days were getting shorter in this winter season, but I went to the "Hikawa Shrine" around Omiya station. Hikawa Shrine seems to be close to Omiya Station and is quite far, so it takes time to walk. I wanted to see more, but it was time to go home, so I ate at LUMINE at Omiya station, bought some souvenir sweets, and returned to Kanazawa station by Shinkansen. I used to live in Omiya during the time of Omiya City, but it was a long time ago, and although I feel nostalgic for the area around Omiya Station that I stopped by the other day, I feel that it has become more lively than in the past. There are a decent number of shops, small NewDays and shops near the station. It is convenient because there are parking lots and bicycle parking lots nearby, and there are buses and taxis.

It's a really ordinary station. The ticket gate is in the center of the 2nd floor after climbing the stairs. The 1st floor of the north exit is a rental car, and the south exit is a rotary with a bus stop, a ramen shop and a convenience store. Recently, a souvenir shop specializing in Honjo City and a fashionable cafe have opened in the direction of the south exit on the 2nd floor. The toilet is always clean. As a station, it's simple and easy to understand, which is good. One thing I can be proud of is that the standing-eating station soba shop next to the stairs at the north exit has long been reputed to be the most delicious on the Takasaki Line. It can be used both inside and outside the station platform. I was also taken care of when I was a student.
