周囲には墓地もあり、夜は薄暗くちょっと怖いです。
待合室には緊急用に貸し出されている傘があります。
It is a small unmanned station.
There is also a cemetery around, which is dim at night and a bit scary.
There is an umbrella in the waiting room for emergency use.

The announcement that the train is coming has become smaller from some time. If you're in the waiting room and someone talks, you won't hear. I have missed it before! It was bigger in the past

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 無人駅なので仕方ないかも知れませんが、エレベーターがないのでベビーカーで反対側のホームに行けず、小さい子連れだと利用しづらいなと思います。エスカレーターもなく、階段のみです。ICカードのチャージの機械、以前はありませんでしたが数ヶ月前に設置されました。
Because it is an unmanned station, it may be unavoidable, but since there is no elevator, you can not go to the opposite platform with a stroller and it is difficult to use it with a small child. There are no escalators, only stairs. There was no IC card charging machine before, but it was installed several months ago.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2019年初に真ん中の上り通過線が撤去されました。
それ以前は上りホーム手前のカーブの途中に停車線と通過線の分岐点があって、
停車線側のカント(線路の傾斜角度)が変わり、かなり揺れが酷かったのですが、
今回の改良工事でその問題が解消された様です。
最近になって券売機が更新されてSuicaチャージも出来る様になったのは有り難いです。
At the beginning of 2019, the middle ascending line was removed.
Before that, there was a stop point of a stop line and a passing line in the middle of the curve before the up platform,
The cant on the stop line side (the inclination angle of the track) changed, and the shaking was quite severe,
This improvement seems to have solved the problem.
I am thankful that the ticket vending machine has been updated recently and Suica charge can be done.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日和田駅の思い出は、西側にあった鉄鉱施設からたなびく煤煙でした。蒸気機関車が走っていた頃は、石炭の煤煙と相まってさぞかし大変だった事でしょうね。いまや昔、トラックが停まっているだけで往時を偲ぶものはありません。
The memory of Hiwada Station was the soot fluttering from the iron ore facility on the west side. When the steam locomotive was running, it would have been difficult because of the soot and smoke of coal. Nowadays, there is nothing to remember the past just because the truck is parked.
