東海一の親分として、その勢力は駿･豆･甲･相･武五カ国に及び子分の数は3600人余りに及び、上州系三親分の一人と云われ、久八現役時代には清水次郎長も頭が上がらなかったと云われていました。
維新後は、博徒から足を洗い帰農し、下田街道の改修や小学校建設等に貢献しました。

As the boss of Tokai, its power is Shun, Mame, Kou, So, Takegokoku, and the number of children is more than 3,600, and it is said to be one of the three bosses of the Joshu family. It was said that Jirocho was also unable to raise his head.
After the Meiji Restoration, he washed his feet from Bakuto and returned to farming, contributing to the renovation of the Shimoda Highway and the construction of elementary schools.
