毎年、新しい芽を出しているのは感動します。数十年前、小学生の頃は根本にあいた穴で遊んでいました。
Higashine is "large zelkova"
I am impressed by the fact that new buds are emerging every year. A few decades ago, when I was in elementary school, I used to play in the holes that were at the root.

小学校の敷地の中なので、真下に行く事は憚られます。地元の方達に大事にされているのは明白ですが、観光地などにしようという事はなく、近隣に駐車場などはありません。
Large zelkova are more surprised by the thickness of the trunk than the height.
It's on the grounds of an elementary school, so I don't want to go underneath. It's clear that the locals cherish it, but there is no such thing as a tourist spot, and there is no parking lot nearby.

校門の両側が城の漆喰壁風の築地塀で、三角や四角の狭間で装飾されていて趣がある。また、東日本で最大の大きな欅が玄関前にある素晴らしい立地の小学校。
ここに登校する子供たちを羨ましく感じられました。

Both sides of the school gate are plastered walls of the castle, and they are decorated with triangular and square spaces. Also, an elementary school in a wonderful location with the largest zelkova in eastern Japan in front of the entrance.
I was envious of the children who went to school here.
