★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 廃校になった陶化小学校校内に大きな石敢當(ｾｯｶﾝﾄｳ)があります。駐在の方がおられたので見学をお願いしました。上部が灯籠です。
以下、傍らの説明文です。勧進橋は鴨川に架かる24号線の橋です。
「石敢當(せきかんとう)とは、中国伝承の魔除け厄を防ぐためのお守りです。安政の始め(1854年)銭取橋という今の勧進橋のたもとに絹問屋商の手で、夜の通行人の安全を守るため建てられたものです。長い年月の間に破損したので村人が明治23年に修復し、明治41年に陶化小学校の玄関に移され、今日に至っています。」
