★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大岡山の神さまが大岡山自体を神格化したものなのか、あるいは大岡山に降臨したのか、どちらかはよくわかりませんが、神宮寺の大岡寺が奈良時代の天平宝字元年に創建されたのですから、それ以前から信仰されていたのでしょう。
いまは神社は麓に降り、跡地だけが残ります。灯籠の基壇やいくつかの石組など。
 I'm not sure if the god of Ookayama deified Ookayama itself or descended to Ookayama, but Ookaji of Jingu-ji was built in the first year of Tenpyo-hoji in the Nara period. Therefore, it must have been worshiped before that.
Now the shrine has descended to the foot of the mountain, leaving only the site. The base of the lantern and some stonework.
