Best little spot for dumplings in Harajuku. Simple menu and everything on it is delicious. Prices are excellent for Japan. Matt and I ordered 3 plates of dumplings (18 pieces) + chicken soup & rice + steamed bean sprouts with minced meat and 2 orders of cold sake. Our total was 2400 Yen. I was impressed. It is fun to sit at the bar top and watch the food get made. The kitchen is custom built around their dumpling operation. The staff members looked like they were a tight group of friends who enjoyed working there. There is a menu painted on the wall. They do have an english menu. Smoking is allowed inside.

Maybe the worst service that I've received in all my time in Japan. Very long waiting to get orders, drinks served on dripping glasses, staff not taking the right order and a smirk on their face made the whole experience terrible. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

The prices are so good and the service is friendly and fast. There is alot of seating inside but there was also a wait time at 11:30am of about 20 minutes. Tried every food item on the menu and the prices are really low. Pan fried dumplings: The best item on the menu, crispy skin but inconsistent cook as some batches did not have crispy skin. The meat is well seasoned. Steamed dumplings: really tasty and meat well seasoned. Could eat these all day. Also tried the cucumber with house miso, bean sprouts with meat sauce, and pickled cabbage and they were solid additions to the meal. Overall I would come back for more, really enjoyable lunch.

Gyōza are the only thing on the menu here, but you won't hear any complaints from the regulars who queue up to get their fix. Have them sui (boiled) or yaki (pan-fried), with or without niniku (garlic) or nira (chives) - they're all delicious. Expect to wait on weekends, but the line moves quickly.

We went to Gyozalo for lunch while visiting Harajuku. It was a great experience. We were seated at one of the tables in the back although we would have preferred sitting at the bar where we could have watched the dumpling being made. We ordered the cucumber salad which was amazing... That miso style dressing was unbelievable. The dumplings were quite good too.

Harajuku Gyozaro must be the most well-known and classic restaurant in the Harajuku area, as the name suggests their main dish are gyozas (dumplings). This is the cheap eats place that everyone should visit at least once when they’re in the area with all the food under 300¥ a dish and alcoholic drinks under 600¥ a cup. They’re opened from 11:30 am – 4 am so it’s great option for lunch and/or late-night snack. There’s 2 flavors of gyoza, original (pork) or with garlic & leek and they can be pan fried or steamed coming in 6 per order. Then there are white rice & soup and 3 different vegetable dishes and that’s the end of the food menu. Even with the larger store size and the fast service there’s still often line ups particularly during the lunch and dinner rush. Particularly during the weekends they’re often busy from early evening (6 pm) all the way through to 10-11pm as people knock back a few drinks. The longest I’ve waited was around 15 minutes, so the line does move quickly.

Very good food, the staff aren't so attentive, they could definitely be more aware of the customers. Food was very tasty and dumplings servings were well priced. The other food is quite small for what you get. I must admit the cucumber salad was awesome as the cucumbers were so crunchy. Bean sprouts were very nice as well. Overall the serving time was well matched for how long it takes for you to eat a plate.

Really loved their simple menu, with limited dishes. Focused on dumplings (boiled and fried) but had a few extra side dishes like chicken rice and miso cucumbers. Their dumplings are fresh made and frozen (you can see them on the trays that they were frozen in), then made in front of you while you wait. Very delicious and also affordable at 290JPY/6 dumplings.
