★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best meat prices that I have seen in Tokyo. Good selection of produce too. Not as good general grocery selection as Peacock Aeon or Maruetsu, but overall cheaper. I shop at all three depending on what I am buying, but I go to Hanamasa the most.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since the introduction of Hanamasa things have become more affordable.
However.... be prepared to shop around. Each Hanamasa store operates different deals, sometimes this store is outstanding, other times less so. They are consistently okay on the meats, and the Alcohol section can be a bit cheaper than elsewhere. They're a bit cramped - but thats the norm, in Central Tokyo. Best Cycle here if you're coming from further afield, but there's nothing in particular that would make me want to come here for specifically anything - so you're probably best off finding your nearest Hanamasa store and going there.
