★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a smaller garden which is best appreciated in the spring and summer months when most flowers are in bloom, we visited in October and it was still a nice quaint walk in the wetlands, everything was very well labelled and the route easy to follow

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We chose an early time to enter, however it's still definitely not worth going at this time (March). The garden was a bit of a disappointment. Admission should be less for this time.
Staff very nice and toilets clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came in Spring time around mid April. Some olants are flowering whereas some are not. The wetland is nice for an easy stroll around the park. Entry fee is about 600yen, 500 if you use the hakone freepass. Many many plant to see and the view of wetland mashes plants is unique as you would never see these plants unless you actually hiked up into the mountains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutly stunning botanical park which preserve local plants.. now full of plants, grasses, grass flowers... Thank you for nice collection of saxifraga. Hey, dont read any bad comments about “flowers”. Parks and gardens are not about flowers only. It is huge work to care about so difficult area as Hakone Garden. I made a few photos to represent this garden partly. You need 2 hours to walk, seat and enjoy her beauty. Park must be nice in any time of the year. I will hope I will come back again soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The botanical garden is very nice but not worth it. No actual flowers are growing and for tourists - you can’t really read any of the descriptions. Wouldn’t advise to pay an entry for that.
The COFFEE PLACE of the botanical garden however is AMAZING. Food is great. Music is great. And coffee is delicious. Very different from anything we’ve had in Japan. We had the ham & cheese; avocado and butter & jam sandwiches and they were all veryyyyy good. Open until 4pm but would advise to go for a nice breakfast or lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a must if you are in Hakone. Staff are kind and the place is quiet. It seems small on the outside but once you get in there are plenty of sprawling paths to take. Much wildlife to see and listen to. Amazingly beautiful setting and it's so well cared for. Th gift shop is small but affordable and oh so cute! Amazingly value and I would assume, much better than other options around. There is a cafe here but it sadly closed before we could go.
