★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 羽黒町＆上内町地区の緑豊かな歴史ある住宅地に小公園が有ります。横手城下町として横手川と愛宕山に挟まれた地区。
かつて、横手城戦火の為落城し城下の内町も大半焼失したらしく、地区内に武家屋敷はありませんが板塀や生け垣等少しではあるが面影を残しているみたいな感じです。
近くに横手南小学校があり子供達の元気な声が聞こえる様な場所でもあります。
有数の豪雪地帯にて道幅の関係で?が1台しか通れない箇所もあり大変ですが、除雪車が出動した後横手川の水を汲み上げ流雪溝利用し決められた時間で地域の人達が溜まった❄を排雪するので何とか通水箇所の道路は確保されているはずです。但し、「かまくら」の道路は?通れない場所が有ります！

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ここ、横手市羽黒町は戦国時代に小野寺氏支配で、徳川幕府に没収されるまで、横手城を居城としていた。城下町も整備され、現在の武家屋敷通りがそれにつながります。
特に冬の「横手のかまくら」の時には、かまくらが作られその風情はより一層楽しませてくれます。
戊辰の役で、庄内・仙台連合軍の攻撃を受けた横手城は防戦も空しく炎上した。そして横手城下の内町は過半が焼失してしまった。
今、この武家屋敷の雰囲気は、上内町と羽黒町によく残っている。建物は殆ど明治以降のもので、黒板塀・生垣が整えられている。
また、この羽黒町は横手市で最初に「景観重点地区」として定められた地区である。
