羽黒神社の開基は一乗寺の始祖【日孝上人】が元禄十三年(1700年)二月に法華経の守護神である【七面大明神】を、ここ羽黒山に祀った事に始まる。享保二年(1717年)には拝殿が完成し、同四年（1719年）には石段が寄進され、更に文政五年(1822年)二月になると本殿並に拝殿が建て変えられたと伝えられている。現在我々が目にする拝殿は昭和五十四年（1979年）に新築されたもので、鬱蒼とした森の中に静かに鎮座している。

The foundation of the Haguro Shrine began when the founder of Ichijyoji Temple [Hikko Kamijin] worshiped the guardian deity of the Hokke sutra [Seven Faces Myojin] in February of 1700 in Hagen. It was said that the worship hall was completed in the 17th year of Kyoho (1717), stone steps were donated in the fourth year of the same year (1719), and it was rebuilt in the same manner as the main hall in February 1822. It has been told. The worship hall we see today was newly built in 1979, and quietly sits in a dense forest.
