祭神 譽田別天皇、足仲彦天皇、氣長足姫尊
合祀神 少彦名神、一言主神
住古小川郷開拓の時(承平年間)神恩報謝の為、神人の霊を祭り厚く尊祟する。御三条天皇の延久年間、譽田別天皇、足仲彦天皇、氣長足姫尊を合祭して郷内の氏神、八幡神社として奉齋。和氣宅成五代の裔、稲毛宅秀 代々小川郷の地持と成り郷民と共に社殿を再築せりと云う。
天正年間に土佐の長曽我部軍の兵火にかかり殿宇宝物等々焼失し慶長七年稲毛秀元は郷民と共に社殿を再興する。明治に入り数度にわたり再建、補修を繰り返し現在に至る。
また、讃岐の神社仏閣の境内に多い楠の大木がこちら八幡神社にも有ります。胸高囲620センチ、樹高23メートル、樹齢約400以上で丸亀市指定の天然記念物です。

At the time of the development of Sumiko Ogawago (Jōhei year), the spirit of the gods is deeply revered for the sake of gratitude for the gods. During the Enkyu period of Emperor Sanjo, he was dedicated to the shrine of Hachiman Shrine, the deity of the township, by enshrining Emperor Tanadabetsu, Emperor Chuaihiko, and Himeson Kicho. Inage Takuhide, the descendant of Waki Takusei Godai, is said to be the owner of Ogawago for generations and to rebuild the shrine together with the locals.
During the Tensho era, Tosa's Nagasoga army fired and burned down the treasures of the shrine, and Hidemoto Inage rebuilt the shrine with the locals in the 7th year of Keicho. In the Meiji era, it has been rebuilt and repaired several times until now.
In addition, there are many large camphor trees in the precincts of Sanuki shrines and temples at Hachiman Shrine. It is a natural monument designated by Marugame City with a chest height of 620 cm, a tree height of 23 meters, and a tree age of about 400 or more.
