迷信を打破する立場から妖怪を研究し『妖怪学講義』などを著し、一方で「お化け博士」「妖怪博士」などと呼ばれたそうです。
墓石のデザインは生前の円了自身だそうです。
It is a grave of Enryo Inoue, a philosopher of the Meiji and Taisho era who created the philosophy hall.
