I trust owner, Tetsuya Okada's, assessment of my prescription much more than my own ophthalmologist at home and Okada-san's customer service is top notch. The first time I went in three years ago, they were able to anodize a old pair of metal frames for me based on the color of the metallic pen I brought in as an example of the color I wanted. They were perfect and lasted years without wearing down. For my second pair, they fitted me with a plastic frame, the kind I'd been wanting to have for years, but couldn't have because the bridge of my nose couldn't handle what a Western nose can. They added material to the frames seamlessly to fit my nose. The craftsmanship couldn't be more beautiful. While I can get by with my Japanese and have been to several opticians in Tokyo, Okada-san's English is perfect, and my frames were mailed to me in the States in less than two weeks. They have a fantastic selection of hip and well-made frames, so if you wear glasses full-time, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a pair of glasses from Globe Specs.

The staff are very hospitable, and Mr Okada, who helped me assess my prescription, was kind and patient. It was the most pleasant visit to an optician's I've ever experienced. I visited in May 2016.

Great place to pickup quality local Japanese handmade frames with a service second to none. You will find unique Japanese frames not available anywhere else. The owner Mr Okada personally did our eye test with much care and patience. Highly recommend!

Very friendly service and cool interiors too! Was a little worried about getting my prescription right since I didn’t bring my current glasses and I don’t speak a word of Japanese. However the owner did the eye test for me and his english is perfect! Will definitely come back to the store again when I visit Japan again.
