★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 文化横丁の隠れた老舗名店、女将が一人で20人分のコの字カウンターを切り盛り、ビール一杯1000円と高いが実は一杯に一品付くシステムで一人四杯まで、一人静かに飲むべき大人の居場所らしい、16:30オープン
と言うことでささっと1人で立ち寄りました。濁り酒を一杯に漬物が付いてきた。カウンターは塗装されてない木なので柔らかく優しい感じ。他のお客も年配の一人客が4,5人と、2人客が2組。静かに飲むのに良い店でした。
 A well-established store hidden in Bunka Yokocho, a proprietress cuts a U-shaped counter for 20 people alone, and a beer is expensive at 1000 yen, but in fact it is a system where one item is attached to each person, up to four cups per person, a place for adults to drink quietly Apparently open at 16:30
So I stopped by alone. A glass of muddy liquor came with pickles. The counter is made of unpainted wood, so it feels soft and gentle. As for other customers, there are 4,5 elderly single customers and two pairs of two customers. It was a good place to drink quietly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 行ってみたかったお店。こんなご時世だからなのかタイミング良かったのか並ばずに入店。でもすぐに満席に。
和服の素敵な女将さん、控えめで暖かい照明の店内、コの字カウンターで旨いにごり酒。
ゆったり良い時間を過ごせました。ご馳走様でした。
The shop I wanted to visit. I entered the store without lining up because it was such a time or because the timing was good. But soon it was full.
A lovely landlady in kimono, a restaurant with modest and warm lighting, and a U-shaped counter where you can enjoy delicious sake.
I had a good time relaxing. It was a treat.

独特の雰囲気で若干緊張しましたが、酒にように連れて、徐々に馴染んできました

I lined up from 16:15 before the store opened and was able to sit in the first round.
I was a little nervous because of the unique atmosphere, but I gradually got used to it as I took it like sake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not suggest if you don’t speak Japanese communication is with lots of surprises, also because it’s small and there’s only one lady runs the whole restaurant service you will expect a long time waiting for your food. This system only works if you don’t hurry, you are not hungry and you love drinking- you get free food with each order of your drink. Menu doesn’t have pics or 汉字 which makes it difficult to order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Old school, great sake, very good matched food. The system (a dish of food for each round of drinks) is surprisingly civilized. Get in when you can, there's no reservations and no wait list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a little charm. There is no English menu or speaking staff, but just brush up on a few basic sentences and start ordering drinks and the most amazing food will accompany them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This izakaya itself is reason enough for me to want to return to Sendai! Small and friendly family run place with amazing food. I really recommend to try the dried salmon or the "foya". Just note that foya has a really strong taste, like sea urchin, so only order if you like that.
Do drink I recommend sake/nihonshu.
To find the place, enter the dark alley shown in pictures. The chance for you to get a seat increases if you arrive close after opening hours.
It helps if you can speak a bit Japanese. Otherwise, just say "nani o osusume shimasuka?" (なにをおすすめしますか。) to get whatever they recommend.
