Visited by rental cycle from Tsuruga station. From the Fukui prefecture side, turn left on the side road in front of the Yanagase tunnel entrance and you will reach the castle ruins. It is a wonderful castle ruin where you can enjoy the remains of the earth castle such as earthworks, empty moat, and earth bridge.

(2019.6.22) The top 100 famous city No. 140, the seal is set in a number of locations, depending on the traffic method to find the most convenient point cover. It is most convenient if you can drive by yourself. In the case of buses, schedules and travel routes are not very friendly, and there is no clear information on the relevant information network. Therefore, my siege method is to rent a bicycle from the station and ride to the Sicheng intersection and then go to the siege. It takes at least half an hour to ride from the station to the siege, but fortunately it is a flat road, and it is a small round trip. I took a total of 90 minutes from the start of the siege, the photo taken in the city, and the time to return to the siege. The time for the bicycle to return to the car is quite early, pay attention to the overall travel time schedule. Cycling route, you can ride in the direction of Google map at the beginning, ride to see the "Liu Yan" brand and then go to the left, see the "Cangjie Xuanfan tail city" description card continues to the left, after a bridge and continue to go inside, After passing a small cement bridge, turn right and stop at the bottom of the road to see the signboard of the siege entrance. Regarding the city traces, there are no preserved buildings on the top, and there are some mounds that preserve the whole curve and are still obvious. But if you don't drive by yourself, the transportation method is really unfriendly.

The ruins of a castle built by the Shibata Katsuie for the battle of Shizugatake. The remaining condition of the earthworks is also quite good. There is a sign for Genbao Castle at the entrance of the Yanagase Tunnel, and you can see the parking lot when you follow the road. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes from the parking lot to the castle. By the way, there is a Kuzuzaka pass on the way to Genbao Castle, and I feel that the pass was also the pass that the Asakura army passed through. You can enjoy two history of the Warring States period, so it's a great place (* `・ ∀ ・ ´ *)

October 25 (Thursday) Sunny Railroad tunnel built in 1897 After switching to a JNR bus-only road in 1964, turn right (from Shiga prefecture side to Fukui prefecture side) immediately after passing through the narrow and dark Yanagase tunnel, which became a general road in 1980, and the ruins of Genbao Castle Arrive at the parking lot. There was an insane car that was parked in the space of a few cars even though only 5 or 6 cars could be parked. The car that came after me was in trouble. I arrived at the castle ruins in about 15 minutes on foot from the parking lot. The ruins of this castle look like a much smaller golf course on a difficult course. All the walls are surrounded by high earthworks, and the main part is double-protected with earthworks and empty moat. There are no stone walls associated with the castle, and the bridges are all made of soil. The cornerstones should normally be lined up in the yard where the main circle was, but I can't find them. A full-scale archaeological excavation has not yet been carried out here, and the cornerstone is lying under the soil. For that reason, the grass and bamboo grass are cut cleanly and it feels good. Today, the weather was fine and I ate rice balls without a side dish at the ruins of the turret on the main enclosure.

Wonderful castle ruins. If you are traveling by car, there is a guide board on the north side of Yanagase tunnel on prefectural road 140. Turn around there. There is a dead end in 2 km and there is a parking space. The road is quite narrow. Be careful if you are not confident in driving because there is little avoidance of oncoming vehicles. About 5 cars can be parked in the parking space. I'm glad that there are 100 castle stamps and pamphlets in the box. There is a trailhead, about 10 minutes of climbing, and another 10 minutes walking on a relatively flat road leads to the castle ruins. Although it is an unusual group of tunes, the remains of the castle are quite easy to understand. It is comfortable and well maintained. It can be said that Yamashiro's textbook castle at this time.

Fukui Prefectural Road From Shiga Prefectural Road 140, west side of the Yanagase Tunnel, you can reach the parking lot by climbing the forest road for a few minutes. At the battlefield where Katsuie Shibata camped during the Battle of Mt. Shirogaga, you can take a walk around the earthwork, Horikiri, and the tiger mouth of each song wheel from the south ridge to the north hill. It was a pity that when I visited, it was summer and I couldn't see the scenery at all because of the thick trees. Also, since there are no vending machines or convenience stores nearby, prepare a drink in advance before going.

On March 21, 4th year of Reiwa, I aimed for the site of Genba'o Castle, but I gave up and headed for the site of Kuniyoshi Castle on the day because the snow prevented cars from entering the mountain road after turning left at the Yanagase Tunnel. rice field. Next time, I will revenge around May.

From Kinomoto Station, take the Yogo Bus and get off at Yanagase. The bus driver was very kind and gave me a map of the castle. I got off at Yanagase and entered the forest road from the north of the village, and after a while I entered the mountain road on the right side, but I did not notice it and went to the end of the forest road (tears). I went up the road over the pass to the castle, but I was deeply moved because it was an old road with a long history. The road was solid and easy to walk and fluffy. It was just around the time of autumn leaves, and the surrounding mountains were full of deciduous trees, and they were colorful and very beautiful. The castle is quite large and well preserved and very spectacular. People 450 years ago made such a wonderful thing and it is left in this way ... I am deeply moved. Today was a very luxurious day.
