★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Even if your not fond of toys, the old house is interesting. Toys from old ancient regions of Japan. Japanese explanations only. But 4 rooms description in English provided.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably you should go here with a Japanese friend. The toys look fun if you know how to play them. I came here alone and then came with a Japanese friend who made all the difference. The displays are quite complete although no English sign whatsoever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice little museum with a ton of dolls, figures, classic toys, games, and displays. It also has a large wooden top, which was used for a Guinness record breaking. The staff was nice and gave a description in English as well, so that we could see the entire museum (it's spread across 2 buildings, so you might miss the majority of it if you didn't know).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I absolutely loved this museum. The owner told me that it was his and his father's personal collection. Because it's a small private museum there are few English descriptions, but there are visual displays that help to make sense of it. The thousands of paper toys inside are incredibly diverse and colourful, as much works of art as anything else. There are four rooms filled with them, among other things, and the curation and layout of the museum is top-notch. Recommended for collectors, Japanophiles, and those interested in folk art.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had so much fun checking all those traditional toys. Feels more like a private collection you can access than a museum. They let me enter even though it was supposed to be closed, the owners are really nice. A bit difficult to find, the entrance is at the back of the toy store
