★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北条氏が伊豆を守る国境の城として築城、近隣の城と連携し武田氏に備えていたとされる。後に徳川家康が自身の隠居所として城跡に造営を命じたが直前で駿府城に変更になった。
遺構は大部分が消失。公園敷地に僅かながら名残を留めるのみ。
It is said that Mr. Hojo built the castle as a border castle to protect Izu and cooperated with nearby castles to prepare for Mr. Takeda. Later Ieyasu Tokugawa ordered the castle ruins to be built as his own retreat, but was changed to Sunpu Castle just before.
Most of the remains have disappeared. Only a little remains on the park grounds.

泉頭城(いずみがしらじょう)は柿田川の水源地泉頭に築かれた城で、戦国時代は北条氏の支配下でした。
現在の城跡は柿田川湧水群の観察ができる柿田川公園として整備されています。
当時の遺構はあまりありませんが、本曲輪跡の駐車場が一段高い場所であったり現在でも曲輪を隔てた堀があるのがわかります。
ちなみに柿田川公園の湧水は特別天然記念物に指定されており、湧水の場所を観察できるように展望台が設置されています。
尚、泉頭城の案内板は本曲輪跡の部分に設置されています。

Izumito Castle Ruins
Izumigashirajo is a castle built at Izumito, the water source of the Kakita River, and was under the control of Mr. Hojo during the Warring States period.
The current castle ruins are maintained as Kakita River Park where you can observe the Kakita River springs.
There are not many remains at that time, but you can see that the parking lot of the remains of this Kuruwa is a higher place and there is still a moat that separates the Kuruwa.
By the way, the spring water of Kakita River Park is designated as a special natural monument, and an observatory is set up so that you can observe the location of the spring water.
In addition, the information board of Izumito Castle is installed in the part of this Kuruwa trace.

町営の駐車場のあたりが本曲輪になっています。
城跡案内看板は、公園入口のすぐ近くとお土産&飲食店の建物脇の2ヶ所にあります。
泉頭城跡の一部は国道１号線によって削られてしまっています。
Kakita River Park itself is the site of Izumito Castle.
The area around the town-run parking lot is the main Kuruwa.
There are two castle ruin signboards near the park entrance and next to the souvenir and restaurant building.
A part of the ruins of Izumito Castle has been removed by Route 1.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 徳川家康の隠居城になれなかった「残念城」ですが、今は遺構も少なく、お城として認識しているのは、ごく僅かな人ではないでしょうか。
もしここが隠居城になっていたら、もっと別の運命があったかも知れないのにと思うと、感慨深いです。
公園としては、実に涼やかで、とても良いところでした。
It is a "regrettable castle" that could not be a retired castle of Ieyasu Tokugawa, but now there are few remains, and it seems that only a few people recognize it as a castle.
I'm deeply moved to think that if this was a retired castle, it might have had a different fate.
It was a really cool and very nice park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 公園内に泉頭城跡があり、湧き間と書かれた場所に井戸があり、ここが舟着き場で、対岸の本城山にある戸倉城との連絡に使用した跡だとか、そこからしばらく掘切りを抜け左右の土塁の上部に曲輪が拡がり左手に貴船神社が鎮座しています。
There is a ruins of Izumito Castle in the park, and there is a well in the place where it is written as a spring. After passing through the cut, a curved ring spreads on the upper part of the left and right earthworks, and Kibune Shrine is enshrined on the left.
