Furutsu Hachimanyama Site - Niigata

It is a house ruin in the Himiko era. Although it is not as large as a country like Yoshinogari ruins, it has been developed into a ruin that clearly understands the points of high-altitude dwellings during the war, such as sections by guo, moats, earthen walls, and cemeteries. It is also an interesting site where you can see the end of the war period, such as when you find the Yayoi period cemetery from the bottom when there is no old residence when the Furutsu Hachimanzan burial mound, which is considered to be the first half of the Kofun period, was built.

I visited Niigata Prefecture because I knew that there was an old burial mound, and I suddenly wanted to see it. To be honest, I was expecting a shobo, but the attached Buddhist Cultural Property Museum was also quite spectacular, and the park and turf centered around the tumulus were beautifully maintained, and it was a very pleasant space. Although it is a little mountain climbing, it is a nice view overlooking the Echigo Plain.

I could see Mt. Kakuda and Mt. Yahiko, and it was very spacious, so it was a good place to spend a relaxing time. I used to live here more than a thousand years ago, and I was wondering if people at that time could see Kakudayama.

The Furutsu Hachimanzan Tomb is the largest burial mound in Niigata Prefecture. It is a bowl of 60m in diameter. It is well maintained. It is also unusual for the prefecture's largest burial mound to be an envy. I feel the uniqueness of the Hokuriku region.

Since there is an old burial mound beside it, the people who lived here were the clan and servants of the powerful tribes who ruled around here, and the general public may have lived on the flat ground. Kakuda far away, especially from the place where the Nobori was on the west side.

I used to come to the botanical garden and the flower land of the flower shop, but today I went to the Yawatayama burial mound for the first time.
