There is a big park. The property's parking lot has D51-125. Among the D51s I've seen several times, it's relatively well preserved. I didn't enter the museum because it was an early morning visit, but a lot of people were walking while enjoying chatting, probably because it was a walking course for the local people.

The content was so interesting and educational. I visited around noon on weekdays and Fridays, but it took a long time even after the traffic on the surrounding roads was so heavy that I approached the museum. The car had a parking lot in the museum, but it seemed to take time to get there, so I stopped at the parking lot in the park.

Why is it located at the edge of such a city? I think that, along the street in front of the building here, there is a hidden bank of the Edo period, which is a hidden specialty of Chiba prefecture (?), So it seems that it was intentionally built here. As you can see, there are many historic sites and archaeological sites right next to the museum, which is one of the hints to hit (it also serves as a guidance facility). By the way, when you enter the premises, the D51, whose blood iron content is likely to rise, is exhibited outdoors and welcomes families and leisure people like us. The building seems to be a little old, but the inside seems to have been renewed a few years ago, and it is a very clean, cool and fashionable space. When you finish the reception and go up to the permanent exhibition room on the second floor, first of all, a large screen and a map of the floor are projected by trendy projection mapping, and a video that shows the flow of big history is shown. Also, it seems that the big theme of the museum here is "City and Transportation". It is true that Funabashi is one of the best commuter towns in the metropolitan area, and there are many railroads and highways, so this theme setting is convincing. However, there are plenty of exhibits of "horses" such as a full-scale model of a native horse, a wild horse ranch under the direct control of the Edo Shogunate, and explanations of recent racetracks. Hah! Maybe horses are also "traffic"! Certainly, until the Meiji and Taisho eras, horses were very active not only in farming but also as vehicles such as carriages and horse riding! In addition, the excellent result was the pamphlet "Let's check! Funabashi: How to check". As far as the polite writing style and ruby text are concerned, it seems that it is aimed at upper elementary school to junior high school students, but the contents are packed with the know-how of Gachi curators! For example, the way to read the materials is "do not pay attention to the details from the beginning, but first relax and look at the whole", or as an analysis method, "comparing with slightly different materials such as time, region, author, etc. When comparing materials, it is different. Techniques that can be used in master's thesis and essay theory are generously shown, such as "think not only about points but also about the same quality", and it is too wonderful to feel the enthusiasm of the curator of Funabashi City! Many of Funabashi's little children who read this will be influenced and take up research jobs, and the natural history world will be filled with people from Funabashi decades later! ??

It is located on the edge of Yakuendai Park and is adjacent to National Highway No. 296 (Narita Highway). The inside of the building is beautiful, and I think it is sufficient as a local material for this area. There is a D51 steam locomotive as an outdoor exhibition.

We didn't visit the museum, but the locomotive was well maintained and very interesting to see, with clearly displayed information (in Japanese). I would like to visit the museum in the future.
