[National Historic Site] It is a front and rear burial mound at the end of the late Kofun period, and there are two-sided sleeve-type stone chambers in both the front and rear circles. The rear-circle stone chamber is a huge one made of megaliths and is designated as a national historic site. An ancient tomb built on a hill extending to the east overlooking the plains of Ekiyamachi. The mound is a front mound with a total length of 68 m. The rear part measures 41 m in diameter and 6.5 m in height, the front part measures 27 m in width, 4 m in height, and the constricted part measures 20 m in width, from 1.6 to 4 m in width and 0.4 in depth. There is a 1.8m circumference. Since the burial facility has horizontal hole type stone chambers built in two places, the rear part and the front part, the front part has been destroyed, but the length is confirmed to be 12.6 m (*). The stone chamber in the rear circle is a double-sleeve horizontal stone chamber that uses granite and opens to the south. At present, the scale is 14.9m in length, 6.8m in length, 2.1-2.6m in width, 3.3m in height, en route. Measures 8.1m in length, 1.6-1.9m in width, and 2.2-2.6m in height, and is the longest in the prefecture. There is one back wall, and the side walls are stacked with a slope. In front of the cemetery, a stone masonry path is built. There was a combination sarcophagus made of Hyogo Prefecture's Ryuzan stone (tuff) in the stone room, and burial items such as Sue ware, earthenware, iron weapons and harness were excavated. Among them, the gilt bronze Ssangyong ring head, which is the head of a sword, is an unusual design. It is believed that the structure of the stone chamber and the burial items were built from the end of the 6th century to the beginning of the 7th century. The structure of the relics and the stone chambers has a relationship with Kinai, and it is possible that the burial mound was built the latest in the west of Kinki. It is an important burial mound when considering the Yamato government and the political situation of the Kibi powers at that time.

It is said to be the second largest existing keyhole-shaped tumulus in Hiroshima Prefecture. The park is well maintained and very beautiful!

If it becomes a nationally designated historic site, there may be a budget, and not only the guidance is enhanced, but also the restoration of the mound and the maintenance of the entrance to the stone chamber are the beautiful old burial mounds, and there is no excitement when visiting. I think that even people who do not have much knowledge can easily imagine those days. It is said that it is an old burial mound that has a stone chamber in front as well as a fairly large horizontal hole type stone chamber in the rear circle, but the stone chamber in the rear could not be confirmed.
