町が誇るだけあって、何か所もの素晴らしい桜の名所があり、毎年そのうちのいくつかを見に行かせていただいているのであるが、その中でも個人的に大好きな２か所のうちの一つです。
（もう一つは近日中にアップします。）
ただ、正直隠れた名所的な場所であり（町のホームページで案内されているので隠れてはないのですが・・・）ひっそりと静かに桜に見とれていたいので、あまり大々的に教えたくはないのですが、やはりこの素晴らしい桜はみていただきたい。
京都の有名な観光地であれば人だかりがするであろう見事な桜を、今シーズンは私の友人たちだけで独占してみることができました。
山門手前に少し白めの薄墨さくらが、山門はいってすぐにはエドヒガン桜（変種だそうです。）がさき、写真に収めるとそれぞれの色の違いままた素敵です。

目的の垂れ桜は半分ほど散ってましたが、それでも圧倒される美しさです。見せ方がとにかく素晴らしい！
山門をくぐる前からオオッと思わず声をあげてしまいました。
手前の薄墨桜に山門から覗く垂れ桜が輝き、垂れ桜をくぐって本堂に向かいます。
飛騨の山奥にこんなに素敵なお寺があったなんて今まで知らなかった事を後悔してます。 込み合うのが嫌で本当は教えたくないですが、この素晴らしさをやっぱり誰かに伝えたい！と。
この荻原地域は他にも見事な垂れ桜が多くあり桜巡りができます。
ライトアップもされ夜に水田に輝くリフレクションの桜も是非見てみたいですね。
昼間も水田に緑深い山が写り込み、綺麗なカエルの鳴き声にウグイスの声が響き、花ももや水仙芝桜等一気に開花し美しい里山が味わえます。
来年こそは満開の桜を、その前に青葉の桜を見に行く！と心の中で誓ってます。
