Excellent bread, incredible design, great service. We feel like floating. Be aware of the queue during the weekends and at the end of the day. And sadly, because is too good, some specialities will be over soon in the day...

Simply put, the best bakery in Tokyo, and possibly my favorite bakery anywhere in the world. The bread here is so soft and fluffy inside, but with a delectable buttery flavor and an absolutely magical fragrance that hits you as soon as you start descending the stairs. Of their other various pastries, their "croustillon" (pictured below) is definitely my #1 pick -- it may not look like much on the outside, but the inside is light, airy, and has a touch of apple and cinnamon that both gives it a nice crunch and perfectly complements the wonderful flavor and texture of Dans Dix Ans' already perfect bread. The location is difficult to find (it's barely labeled, and basically down a staircase at the end of a small back alley between a fashion goods shop and an import toy store), but that just kind of adds to its mystique; this shop can be "your secret," that you tell other people about when they come to visit! If you do check it out, though, you'll need to reserve your bread a day in advance online or by phone, or else show up after they start selling without reservation at around 1pm each day. If you choose the latter, though, be sure to get there before 2:30 or so, as that's usually when they sell through their whole stock of unreserved bread and pastries! This place may be hidden, but the locals know it, and the bread here goes quick. If you check it out for yourself, though, you'll see exactly why!
