写真は、原付バイクが切通を抜けて頂上に至ったかのように写っているが、これはわざわざ遠回りをして、頂上に至った為である。間違っても、切通を乗り物で通ってはならない。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御成街道の最終になる山王坂の切通しは、八鶴湖から日吉神社へ向かう参道にもなっていて、S字を描いている階段状の歩道です。両サイドが20m以上の崖で地層がはっきりみてとれます。各地層にある粘土層の境界部分から、湧き水がしみ出ていて八鶴湖の水源になっています。また、途中に権現の滝というちいさな滝や道陸神(どうろくじん)の社があります。観る価値のある穴場的なスポットだと思います。

The stratum can be clearly seen on the cliffs of 20m or more on both sides. Spring water seeps out from the boundary of the clay layers in each layer and serves as the water source for Lake Hakkaku. In addition, there is a small waterfall called Gongen no Taki and a shrine of Dorokujin on the way. I think it's a little-known spot worth seeing.
